Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport celebrates the Greek Day with Sirtaki and national food

On May 24, 2019, Pulkovo St. Petersburg International Airport and Ellinair celebrated the Greek Day. A performance of ‘Sirtaki’ dance group and tasting of the traditional Greek food took place in the check-in hall of the airport.

An eventful program awaited the guests and passengers of St. Petersburg airport departing on May 24th. During the tasting of national Greek appetizers, everyone could try vegetable and salmon canapes, as well as sweet delights. Passengers and guests of the airport enjoyed the traditional performance in national dress prepared by ‘Sirtaki’ dance group. Additionally, everyone could take memorable photos with dancers and panoramic views of Greece.

In the IATA Summer Season 2019, Ellinair performs direct flights from St. Petersburg to Thessaloniki twice-weekly. In 2018, the carrier served 48 thousand passengers at Pulkovo, which is 16% more than in 2017.

In 2019, direct flights from Pulkovo to Greece are also operated by Aegean, Azur Air, Rossiya, Nordwind, and Ural Airlines. In total, the route network of St. Petersburg airport in the current summer season includes seven Greek cities: Athens, Zakynthos, Heraklion, Kerkyra, Kos, Rhodes, and Thessaloniki.

In 2018, direct passenger traffic between St. Petersburg and points of Greece amounted to 232.4 thousand passengers, which is 2.8% more than in 2017.
